The Road Church is an accepting community called to experience and to be God's presence everywhere. We believe that church happens wherever we are - at home, work, school, and play. We want to live into God's dream of a world where everyone and everything is made new. We want to love, serve, and give our lives to help make that happen.
Well we are going to do it again - a blended in-person and zoom gathering this
Sunday, Sept 20, 10:10am.
We are excited to offer ways to gather that honors everyone's situation but still give opportunity to connect. So while there's new things to figure out, the truest thing about us is that we are a merry band of Christ followers who are trying to love each other and our neighbors! So join us in any way you can!
Wild Stories for Bewildering Times
Here's a fun fact - in the 300's, all the Christians were fighting over who had the best truth and what really was "christian" and who got to say so. And so the faith leaders decided to get together to agree on some basics and what they landed on was not a systematic theology, or an apologetics tour, but a litany of the stories that make up our faith - and this we have the Creeds. These folks didn't agree on much, but in unchartered waters they agreed on the stories of the gospels to define them.
And so, like two millennia of folks before us, we are going back to basics in our bewildering times to tell the Wild Stories that shape us from the inside out.
This week we are starting with the wildest and wooliest-John the Baptist.
“In the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar-when Pontus Pilate was Governor of Judea and Herod was tetrarch of Galilee..during the High priesthood of Annas and Caiaphus, the word of God came to John in the wilderness.”
